I’m Kristy

(she | her)

Human, therapist, storyteller, partner, parent x2, wounded healer, and more. I specialize in therapy for men, although all are welcome in my room. I see clients who identify as men, women, trans, and non-binary/non-conforming.

I spent a lot of time on this page making it perfect, then realized it was super boring and a little cold. Which, why in the world would anyone want to share their time with that? This page is actually supposed to be a glimpse of what you will get in the therapy room. I’m warm, inviting, and I think sort of funny (you decide.)

So, what you probably want to know is…

  • Do I know how to support/help you?

  • What inspires me to work with clients around anxiety, trauma, family-of-origin issues, and relational concerns?

I’ve been there. I am there. I get it. My anxious attachment is alive and well(?). Anxiety is my daily struggle, and, sneak peek… there isn’t a cure, but we can sit with it, we can shrink it, and make life around anxiety a bit more enjoyable. Healing goes way faster when we lead with feelings, although they can be uncomfortable.

Because I've experienced this, I know the work it takes. My clients are the best people. They are frankly tired of letting these concerns take over, so they are ready to make a change and take a chance on themselves. The clients that I work with are brave, smart, curious, amazing humans who just need a little support.

What am I not? Well, there are many things, but I won’t always agree with everything you say. I might agree sometimes, but I’ll lend a different perspective other times. I might be wrong, and I encourage you to tell me when you have differing opinions. I will hold space for you. I will challenge you. I will cry with you. We will also laugh, a lot. We’ll probably talk about some painful things; and most importantly, you will not be alone.

To answer the first question: Yes, I know what I'm doing. Being a therapist is my passion. I’m one of the lucky people that love what they do and I would like to think that I’m darn good at it. Plus, I’m always in some training to get better for YOU.
