I’m Kristy

(she | her)

Human, therapist, storyteller, partner, parent, wounded healer, and more. I specialize in therapy for men, although all are welcome in my room. I also see clients who identify as women, trans, and non-binary/non-conforming.

I spent a lot of time on this page making it perfect, then realized it was super boring and distant. This page is actually supposed to be a glimpse of what you will get in the therapy room. I’m warm, inviting, and I think funny (you decide.) I want this page to help you decide if we’ll work well together, not just list what I’ve done (but I do have that part at the end if you would like.)

What you probably want to know is…

  • Do I know what I’m doing?

  • What inspires me to work with clients around anxiety, trauma, family-of-origin issues, and relational concerns?

Look, I’ve been there. I get it. My anxious attachment is alive and well. Anxiety is my daily struggle, and, sneak peek… there isn’t a cure, but there is a way to sit with it and make it an uncomfortable friend.

I’m a big overthinker and a bit of a perfectionist. I learned to lead with the feeling through my own therapy and training. Go figure, feelings are actually really freakin important. Healing goes way faster when we lead with feelings, although they can be uncomfortable.

Because I've gone through this, I know the work it takes to get out. My clients are the best people to work with; they are just sick of being unhappy and letting these concerns take over, so they are ready to make the needed changes. You have to change you. I can’t do it for you, but I am honored to be by your side in the process. Interested in a consult? Click here (and find me, Kristy Fisher.)

What am I not? Well, there are many things, but I am not a smile-and-nod therapist in this context, meaning I won’t always agree with everything you say. I might agree sometimes, but I’ll lend a different perspective other times. I might be wrong, and I encourage you to tell me when you have differing opinions. We will also laugh and maybe cry. We’ll probably talk about some painful things; you will not be alone.

To answer the first question: Yes, I know what I'm doing. Being a therapist is my passion, and I’m so mad I didn’t find this career sooner. I love what I do, and I would like to think that I’m damn good at it. Plus, I’m always in some training to get better for YOU.

I love working with people who are dealing with these issues. It brings my heart so much joy. My clients are brave, smart, curious, amazing humans who need a little support. I enjoy working with adults 18+ (I curse; it’s the East coaster in me.) People who reach out to me are interested in self-discovery and challenging dialog and believe in healing.
