Group Work

Groups can act as a support network, a sounding board and allow you to find your voice. Humans are social beings, so it makes sense why group work can be so effective! We thrive off of socialization.

I work as your therapist and moderator. I implement work creatively and bring experience from previous work integrating storytelling, somatic work, and trauma release. What is trauma, though? It can be anything that your body cannot process. I do not speak of Big “T'“ and Little “t” trauma. I want to normalize this and simply say, if it is trauma to you, it is trauma to me – let’s work through this together.

Specifically in groups, I work from a lens directed by The Trauma Research Institute, led by Bessel van der Kolk. With this work, I integrate additional work in somatic experiences and Lee Strasberg, creator of The Method and Method Acting. It is within this method of relaxation and sensory experience that we can grow, build, and face past traumas. We use time for relaxation and exploration in the body and the mind. After, we have a reflective discussion and a supportive and safe environment.

Groups are 2 hours long for a commitment of 10 weeks. Download additional information on groups here.

“The act of revealing oneself fully to another and still being accepted may be the major vehicle of therapeutic help.”
